I loved the pop of black in this kit and I think it compliments the shadows and darker tones in some of my photos.
The photos in my insert this week were also Mother's Day related, but were from an early mid-week celebration with my Mother in-law.

It has been far too long since I last shared a PL post with you and since I am now officially on school holidays for the next two weeks (YAY!!!), I am planning on doing some serious blogging. So rather than gabbing on with nonsense, I think I will just get on with sharing Week 19 using the gorgeous 'This Month - May 2014' kit from Amanda Yi Designs. This week was filled with some routine and not so routine events. Being the week leading up to Mother's day, I ended up with quite a few photos for the one day, so the left hand page captured all the 'other' things that happened during the week, while the right hand side and a single 'H' insert from Becky Higgins were left for the Mother's Day happenings in our week. The embellishments in Amanda Yi's kit are super cute, and as always I decided to layer a couple of them with a circle label containing some extra journaling... I love how it turned out. The gold sparkly hearts are just perfect, don’t you think. And I’m not a huge ‘blingy’ kind of girl. The right hand page captures all of those special moments we shared on Mother's Day. I LOVE receiving hand-made cards and gifts from my boys and it is tradition at our place to open them in bed after breakfast and snuggles. I loved the pop of black in this kit and I think it compliments the shadows and darker tones in some of my photos. I especially loved the 'Mother's Day' card when I purchased this kit and knew I HAD to use it. The colour of the card is divine and the flowers add a girly touch without going over the top. The insert I used is basically half of the full-page protectors I use each week. I especially love using these 'H' inserts with 'A' page protectors (from Becky Higgins), because they magically disappear and blend into the next page. They allow you to add those few extra photos that help to tell the story, as well as add some interest to your album. I love flipping through alums with lots of different sized protectors... a very tactile experience! The photos in my insert this week were also Mother's Day related, but were from an early mid-week celebration with my Mother in-law. Here is an overall look at the spread without the insert. A week of special moments that I will cherish forever and can now relive with the help of the pocket scrapbooking system. I'm so glad I took up this hobby!!! Thanks for stopping by...
