This creative pursuit, amoungst others, continued and at the age of 21 I was introduced to the idea of scrapbooking. What a revelation this was to me. Finally I had a way of incorporating my photos and memories into a book to cherish and look back upon. Unfortunately, as time went on I became time poor while I established my career as a school teacher. Scrapbooking took a back seat, but I never stopped taking photos.
With the birth of my babies, Cooper and Oliver, my priorities changed. I felt the need to document as many moments as I could since my babies would only be babies for such a short time. Although I loved the results, intense guilt set in as I felt 'behind', like many others in the scrapping world.
In 2011, whilst teaching traditional scrapping at the local scrapbook store, I stumbled across Project Life while surfing the internet. I attempted using Becky Higgins core kits to complement my photos and amassed a rather large collection of pretty cards, but I didn't feel 'settled' in the process. I found it time-consuming and difficult to select that 'just right' card to match my photos. Furthermore, my handwritten journalling went against my desire for perfection.
Fast-forward to April 2014, and with a persuasive and friendly push from a new friend, I found the hybrid-digital world of pocket scrapbooking.
I feel so 'settled' with this style of documenting and I am not stressed about being behind. and I can't begin to understand why that would be??? Maybe it's because it's getting DONE and because of this I am becoming excited by the thought of sharing my stuff. As a naturally quiet person, an introvert most of the time, I feel like a blog may be the place to do just that.
When thinking through what I wanted out of this blog, the name was something that seemed important to me. I wanted it to serve as a connection to me as a person and the content I wanted to share. After thinking for quite some time, Commentary Hush Saga was born. It is simply an anagram of the letters in my first and last names and I believe it represents my subdued personality and my love of documenting the observations and stories of everyday life (Project Life).
So ..... thank you for reading and welcome to the first post of (hopefully) many here on my blog, Commentary Hush Saga.
